Biography
Skinny Living, formed in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, consists of guitarist Will Booth, Belfastâborn vocalist Ryan Johnston, and guitarist Danny Hepworth. The trio emerged from the local indieâsoul scene in 2013, quickly gaining attention with their debut single "Let Go" in 2019. In 2017 they signed with RCA Records, followed by a Polydor deal in 2019, and later Parlophone for a side project under the alias New Familiar. Their debut studio album 6 was released in 2017, with subsequent releases 3 (2016), Live and Acoustic (2018), and Day by Day (2024), the latter charting at Number 24 in the UK. Notable collaborations include producers Eg White and Rich Cooper, and the band headlined Live at Leeds and toured with The Kaiser Chiefs in 2020. Skinny Living also released the EPs 3 (2016), 6 (2017), and 9 (2025), the latter featuring the hit "Up Where with the Birds", which peaked at number 21 on the UK's Singles Sales chart.
