Biography
Alphonso Bondzie, known as Skibadee, was born on February 1, 1975, in Waterloo, London, and was a British recording artist and drum and bass MC. He started his career as a drum and bass MC on City Sound Radio in 1993. By early 1995, he regularly performed at jungle music events. In late 1997, Skibadee launched the project 2Xfreestyle with MC Det, which combined drum and bass tempos with hip-hop beats. The single "Inside Me" gained acceptance on MTV and The Box. He received his first Knowledge Award for best MC in 1999. In the early 2000s, Skibadee collaborated with MC Shabba D as "S.A.S.," becoming known for raves like Telepathy and One Nation. His vocals on "Twist 'Em Out" reached Number 1 in the UK charts in 2003. Throughout his career, he won multiple awards, including the Drum & Bass Arena Awards for best MC in 2010. Skibadee passed away on February 27, 2022, at the age of 47.
