Rebecca Ãowyn Denee Krueger, known professionally as Ãowyn, was born on March 1, 1979, in Nashville, Tennessee. She is an American singer of alternative rock, gothic, and Christian music. She began her music career in 1999 and released her debut album, Shattered Illusions, independently in 2004. The album reached the Top 20 on the National Christian Rock Chart by R&R, with singles "Take Me Away" and "Hold Me" charting at number 18 and number 15, respectively. In 2006, Ãowyn released her second studio album, Identity, featuring the single "Locked Away", which included a music video. Her third album, Silent Screams (2008), produced by Travis Wyrick, featured collaborations with Pillar and saw Ãowyn supporting Evanescence on their U.S. tour that year. In 2011, she released her fourth studio album, Beautiful Ashes, which included a title track with an accompanying music video.
