Silas Hogan, born on September 15, 1911 in West Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was an American blues musician and guitarist. He began performing regularly by the late 1930s and relocated to Baton Rouge, by the early 1950s, where he formed the Rhythm Ramblers. In 1962, at age 51, Silas Hogan started his recording career with Excello Records, producing the notable track "Lonesome La La" (1963) and his debut album Trouble (1971). After his contract ended, Hogan continued recording for Blues South West and Flyright records, releasing The Godfather (1989) and I'm a Free Hearted Man (1989). Hogan died on January 9, 1994.
