Biography

Kenny Neal, born on October 14, 1957 in New Orleans, Louisiana, is an American blues guitarist and singer from a musical family who learned his craft from Slim Harpo, Buddy Guy, and his father Raful Neal. His debut album Bio on the Bayou was released in 1987 under King Snake Records. Throughout his career, Kenny Neal has collaborated with notable artists including Lucky Peterson and Lazy Lester. In 2016, Kenny Neal's album Bloodline, co-produced with Tom Hambridge, received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Kenny Neal has been inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame (2011) and won multiple awards including the Monterey Bay Blues Artist of the Year Award in 2009 and the Blues Music Award for Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year in 2019.
