Shibugakitai (ãã¶ãããã) is a three-member Japanese male idol group formed in 1981. The members consist of Toshikazu Nunokawa (August 4, 1965, from Kanagawa Prefecture), Masahiro Motoki (December 21, 1965, from Saitama Prefecture), and Hirohide Yakumaru (February 19, 1966, from Tokyo). They won the Best Newcomer Award at the Japan Record Awards that year and quickly rose to the top idol status. Their songs are characterized by "Japonism" and playful novelty songs with an awareness of Japanese culture, and on June 1, 1984, they released the single "Cats & Dogs," which became the theme song for an NHK puppet show. After that, they continued to release a series of hit songs, including "Sushi-no-Kuida-ne-ee!" On November 2, 1988, the group "disbanded" at the Yoyogi Daiichi Gymnasium, ending a seven-year run of brilliant performances.
