Schleigho, a four-piece band based in New York City, was formed with Jesse Gibbon on keyboards, Suke Cerulo on guitar, flute, and saxophone, Erik Egol on drums, and Drew McCabe on bass. The group's music blended acid jazz and funk, characterized by its instrumental and improvisational style. Their debut album, Schleigho, was released in 1995, followed by Farewell to the Sun in 1997 and In the Interest of Time in 1998. Bassist Drew McCabe left after these releases, replaced by Matt Rubano for the album Continent in 2000. Schleigho is also known for organizing the Ho-Down festival. Their live album Live at Ho-Down 2000, released in 2001, captured performances from the 2000 festival with special guests including Derek Trucks, Kofi Burbridge, and Joshua Smith. Since 2004, Schleigho has played sporadically, with occasional shows featuring rotating bassists.
