Rosanna Tavares and Zélia Fonseca, known as Rosanna & Zélia, were a Brazilian duo who gained popularity in Europe. They met in 1974 at a school in Itaúna, Minas Gerais, Brazil, while participating in a music and theater group. The duo reunited in the mid-1980s, moving to Portugal before settling in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In 1997, the duo released Passagem, followed by Coisário in 1999, Postcard in 2001, and Ãguas-Iguais in 2004. Rosanna & Zélia's music blended elements of bossa nova, jazz, Portuguese, Afro-Brazilian, and indigenous influences. They collaborated with notable musicians such as Dino Saluzzi, Howard Levy, Katharina Franck, Shantel, and Ivan Santos. A documentary film titled Canção da Nossa Vida, directed by Sven Düfer, was released in 2004/05. Rosanna Tavares passed away in 2006.
