Biography

Bangor Flying Circus was an American progressive rock trio from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in mid-1967 by David "Hawk" Wolinski on bass, keyboards, and vocals; Alan "Addison Al" DeCarlo on guitar and vocals; and Tom Schiffour on drums, the band featured former members of Shadows of Knight and H.P. Lovecraft. In late 1968, Schiffour was replaced by Michael Tegza on drums and percussion, who had previously been a member of H.P. Lovecraft. The group released their self-titled debut album Bangor Flying Circus in 1969, which reached number 190 on the Billboard 200 chart. After the group disbanded in 1969, Wolinski and DeCarlo formed Madura, while Tegza took part in two later reconfigurations of Lovecraft, the successor band to H.P. Lovecraft.
