Samajona was a German girl group formed in Berlin in 2000, consisting of Sabrina Ziegler, Marleen Heitzmann, Johanna "Joe" Klum, and Nadja Loddoch. The band's name is derived from the first two letters of each member's first name. Samajona gained initial recognition with their debut single "Warum?!" in 2001, which sold over 100,000 copies, followed by their album Crème Frech in 2002. After Klum and Loddoch left the group, Kirsten "Kirsty" Merz and Mariangela "Marie" Scelsi joined. In this new lineup, Samajona released their second album Spurwechsel in 2003, featuring singles "Sag es", "The Car U Wanna Drive" (in English and German versions), and "Miss You". The group underwent further changes with Claudia "Claudi" Uterhardt and Julia "Jule" Titze joining, followed by J.-Ann "Jenny" Wilson replacing Heitzmann. Despite these shifts, no new releases materialized before the band disbanded in 2005. Samajona received notable awards including a Goldene Stimmgabel in 2002 and Echo nominations in 2002 and 2003. The group's song "Listen to Me" featured lyrics written by Christina Milian.
