Sagapool is a Canadian gypsy jazz and world music group from Montreal formed in 1999 at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. Originally known as Manouche, they released their debut studio album, Apprenti Moustachu (2002), followed by St-Urbain Café (2005). The latter record received an ADISQ award nomination for best instrumental album in 2006. They officially changed their name to Sagapool in 2008 and released their third studio album, Épisode Trois (2008). This work was named instrumental album of the year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in November 2008. They issued their eponymous fourth studio album, Sagapool (2012), which earned a nomination for Instrumental Album of the Year at the ADISQ awards. Their musical style incorporates influences from klezmer, folk, and jazz while emphasizing original compositions and improvisation.
