The Barry Sisters, born Minnie Bagelman and Clara Bagelman in the Bronx, New York, on April 6, 1923, and October 17, 1920, respectively, were American singers known for their Yiddish and jazz performances. They began their career as The Bagelman Sisters, making their first recordings with Victor Records in the late 1930s. Their breakthrough came when they changed their stage name to The Barry Sisters and joined Dick Manning's Yiddish Melodies in Swing radio program on New York's WHN in 1937. They released several albums, including The Barry Sisters Sing (1957), At Home With The Barry Sisters (1959), and Shalom (1961). The sisters toured extensively, including a visit to the Soviet Union in 1959. Minnie Bagelman died on October 31, 1976, while Clara Bagelman passed away on November 22, 2014.
