Biography
Sabino Méndez is a Spanish rock composer and guitarist who was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1961. He achieved early professional recognition in the late 1970s after forming the groups Los Pintalabios and Los Rompecorazones alongside the bassist Teo Serrano. Méndez is famous for his work as the primary composer and guitarist for the band Loquillo y los Trogloditas and for writing Spanish rock anthems including âCadillac solitarioâ. In 1980, he co-founded the ensemble Loquillo y los Intocables, contributing the track âRock 'n' Roll Starâ to their debut studio album, Los tiempos están cambiando (1980). He later formed Loquillo y los Trogloditas, releasing the studio recording El ritmo del garaje (1983), which featured the track âEl ritmo del garajeâ. His discography with the group includes the studio recordings La mafia del baile (1985) and Mis problemas con las mujeres (1987), the latter featuring the hit single âLa mataréâ (1987). Following a period of separation, Méndez collaborated again with Loquillo for the studio recording La nave de los locos (2012). He is also the author of the memoir Corre, Rocker (2000).
