Biography

Ryan Sheridan, born on 28 January 1982 in County Monaghan, Ireland, is an Irish singer‑songwriter who began playing fiddle at seven before moving to New York as a teenager, where he developed a percussive guitar style that fused traditional Irish music with contemporary pop. Sheridan’s breakthrough came in 2010 when his single "Jigsaw" entered Irish radio and iTunes charts, leading to a contract with Rubyworks Records. He released his debut album The Day You Live Forever on 6 May 2011; the album entered the Irish Albums Chart at Number 2, achieved gold status within five weeks and was later certified platinum. The single "The Dreamer" was used in a Heineken commercial, and "Stand Up Tall" received a nomination for Best Male Video at the 2011 IMTV Awards. In 2015 Sheridan released his second studio album Here and Now, which debuted at Number 1 on the Irish Albums Chart, and embarked on a headline tour across Ireland and Germany. Sheridan has performed at major venues such as Croke Park, the Aviva Stadium, and the Hard Rock Calling festival, and has supported acts including Taylor Swift, Bryan Adams, and The Script.
