Hudson Taylor, a folk rock duo from Dublin, Ireland, comprised the brothers Harry and Alfie HudsonâTaylor. Formed in 2011, the duo began their musical journey busking on Dublin streets and across Europe. Their first breakthrough came with the selfâreleased EP Battles in August 2012, which topped the Irish iTunes chart and reached number 14 in the United Kingdom; it was followed by the EP Cinematic Lifestyle in December 2012. In January 2015, Polydor released their debut album Singing for Strangers, produced by Iain Archer, which peaked at number 3 in Ireland and number 24 in the United Kingdom, featuring singles such as "Chasing Rubies" and "Battles". After leaving Polydor in February 2016, the duo signed with Rubyworks Records and released the EP Feel It Again in March 2018, produced by Ryan Hadlock, with the title track becoming a hit in Irish airplay in 2017. They toured extensively, supporting acts like Jake Bugg, The Rolling Stones, Gabrielle Aplin, Hozier, and Rodrigo y Gabriela, and performed at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin. In October 2023, Harry announced the duoâs split in 2022; subsequent solo projects saw Harry releasing music as Lady Bird Lad and Alfie launching a podcast. The groupâs catalog includes albums Singing for Strangers (2015), and Bear Creek to Dame Street (2018).
