Biography
Rishloo, an American independent progressive rock band from Seattle, Washington, was formed in 2002. Their debut album, Terras Fames, released in 2004, established their unique sound inspired by bands such as Tool and The Mars Volta. In 2007, Rishloo gained significant traction with their second album, Eidolon, which saw a surge in listeners on Last.fm from 220,000 to over one million within six months. This period also marked the debut of lead vocalist Andrew Mailloux and drummer Jesse Smith. Their third album, Feathergun (2009), further solidified their reputation with powerful vocals from Mailloux. However, internal tensions led to Mailloux's departure in 2012, resulting in an incomplete fourth album. The remaining members formed a new group, The Ghost Apparatus, releasing the single "Winslow". In 2014, Rishloo reunited and released their highly anticipated fourth album, Living as Ghosts with Buildings as Teeth, featuring notable tracks such as "Just a Ride" and "Landmines".
