Biography

Puscifer, formed in Los Angeles, California, is the creative project of Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle), who serves as the band’s lead vocalist and primary songwriter. After early collaborations with Mat Mitchell and Carina Round, Puscifer released the Don't Shoot the Messenger EP in 2007, followed by the full‑length V Is for Vagina album on 30 October 2007, which entered the Billboard 200 at Number 25 and topped the Independent Albums chart. Subsequent releases include Conditions of My Parole on 18 October 2011, debuting at Number 27 on the Billboard 200; Money Shot on 30 October 2015; and Existential Reckoning on 30 October 2020. The band has issued remix compilations such as V Is for Viagra on 29 April 2008 and D Is for Dubby on 31 October 2008. Puscifer has toured extensively, performing in North America, Australia, Brazil, and Europe, and has released several live recordings. In February 2026, they released their fifth original studio album, Normal Isn't.
