Rastak, an Iranian contemporary folk music ensemble formed in 1997, is known for blending traditional folk instruments and forms with modern rhythms. They initially focused on collecting and interpreting Iranian, Kurdish, Baloch, and Turkmen folk music for a global audience. Rastak has performed at numerous international festivals, including the Rainforest World Music Festival 2023 in Sarawak, Malaysia, and the Spirit of Tengri World Music Festival in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The group has also held concerts across various countries, showcasing their fusion of Persian language, Iranian culture, and history with contemporary rhythms. Led by Siamak Sepehri, Rastak features talented members such as Farzad Moradi, Behzad Moradi, Maedeh Doosti, Akbar Esmaeilipour Farsangi, Majid Poosti, Sahar Rashiditorbati, and Behzad Pournaghi.
