Ramón Valle, born on December 29, 1964, in HolguÃn, Cuba, is a Cuban jazz pianist. His work often blended contemporary jazz with Cuban rhythms, as well as classical compositions by Ernesto Lecuona. He began his piano studies at age seven and later studied at the Escuela Nacional de Arte in Havana until 1984. Valle's early successes included performances with his group Brújula and solo appearances. From 1991 to 1993, he was part of Diákara, the group of singer-songwriter Silvio RodrÃguez. In 1998, Valle moved to Europe, where he formed the Ramón Valle Quintet and a trio that accompanied Jane Bunnet at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Notable albums include Danza Negra (2002), Memorias (2005), Levitando (2005), Take Off (2015), The Art of Two (2016), and Inner State (2020). He has also notably collaborated with Roy Hargrove and Perico Sambeat.
