Ragnar Bjarnason, also known as Raggi Bjarna, was born on September 22, 1934, and was an Icelandic singer. He began his musical journey at age 13 as a drummer in his father's band and by 16 was singing with Sigurður Ãlafsson. In 1955, Bjarnason became the vocalist for Svavars Gest, releasing several albums independently during this period. He later joined KK Sextet from 1956 to 1959 and returned to Iceland in 1964 after spending a few years abroad. Upon his return, he briefly rejoined Svavar before forming his own group in 1965, which performed for 19 consecutive years at Hótel Saga. Bjarnason also founded Sumargleðin in 1972, gaining national fame through extensive touring. His discography includes notable albums such as Ragnar Bjarnason (1971) and Með Hangandi Hendi (2005). He passed away on February 25, 2020.
