Biography

Quatuor Parisii is a French string quartet formed in 1981 by graduates of the Conservatoire de Paris. The ensemble achieved international recognition in 1986 by winning the Grand Prix Radio Canada at the Banff International String Quartet Competition, followed by top prizes at the Évian and Munich competitions in 1987. Renowned for their technical precision and breadth of repertoire, they have championed works ranging from the classical canon to contemporary compositions by Pierre Boulez and Gilbert Amy. Their extensive discography includes C. Franck - Piano Quintet In F Minor (2000), William Sheller - Oeuvres Pour Quatuor (2003), and the comprehensive Webern - Quatuor à cordes (intégrale) (2008).
