Pretty Boy Floyd, an American glam metal band formed in 1987 in Hollywood, California, emerged from the Sunset Strip scene with vocalist Steve âSexâ Summers leading the group. The bandâs breakthrough arrived with the 1989 single "Rock and Roll (Is Gonna Set the Night on Fire)" and "I Wanna Be with You", which gained MTV rotation and contributed to the success of their debut album Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz released the same year. After a brief split in 1994, Pretty Boy Floyd reassembled in 1995 and issued the EP A Tale of Sex, Designer Drugs, and the Death of Rock nâ Roll in 1998, followed by the studio album Porn Stars (1999) and the live recording Live at the Pretty Ugly Club (2001). The early 2000s saw the release of The Vault (2002), Vault II (2003), Tonight Belongs to the Young (2003), and Size Really Does Matter (2004), as well as the compilation The Ultimate Pretty Boy Floyd. In 2010 the band released the tribute album Kiss Of Death: A Tribute To Kiss, and in 2017 issued Public Enemies, described by guitarist Kristy âKrashâ Majors as a direct followâup to their debut. Despite lineup changes-including the death of bassist Vinnie Chas in 2010 and drummer Ben Graves in 2018-the group continued touring internationally, including a U.K. and Europe tour in 2022, maintaining a presence in the glam metal revival scene.
