Biography
Trixter is an American hardârock band formed in 1983 in Paramus, New Jersey, by guitarist and vocalist Steve Brown and bassist Doug âDougie C.â Cowie, with drummer Mike Pane completing the original lineup. The group first gained attention with the single "Give It to Me Good" in 1990, which reached Number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a staple of early 1990s rock radio. In May 1990, Trixter released its debut album Trixter under MCA Records; the album peaked at Number 28 on the Billboard 200 and earned Gold certification in the United States after selling 500,000 copies. The followâup single "One in a Million" also reached Number 1 on MTVâs video countdown and contributed to the albumâs commercial success. In October 1992, the band issued its second studio effort Hear!; although the album performed modestly in the United States, it achieved notable sales in Japan. In 1994, the covers album UnderCovers featured songs by Paul Simon, The Beatles, AC/DC, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys, Elvis Costello, and Supertramp. After a brief hiatus in the midâ1990s, Trixter reâemerged in 2008 for a reunion tour, and in 2015 released Human Era through Frontiers Records. The band has maintained an active touring presence, including a 2016 headline slot at the Rockingham festival in Nottingham, and continues to perform with its current lineup comprising Steve Brown, P.â¯J. Farley, and Ben Hans.
