Biography

Armando Pérez, aka Pitbull, hails from Miami (Florida), where he was born in 1981. But his Cuban origins soon led him to Latinize his rap with the basses of reggaeton. In 2004, M.I.A.M.I.: Money Is a Major Issue reached No. 14 in the United States. Subsequent albums El Mariel (2006) and Boatlift (2007) were less successful. Pitbull became a major star in 2009 with Rebelution, featuring the singles "Krazy " and especially "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)", a worldwide hit and number one in France. His Spanish-language album Armando (2010) is understandably more confidential. Pitbull strikes again in 2011 with Planet Pit and its prestigious guests. The hit "Give Me Everything", featuring Ne-Yo and Afrojack, was one of the year's sensations. Now the king of the party, Pitbull stuns the competition in 2012 with Global Warming, pumped up to the wildest BPMs. While his collaborative hits are countless, Pitbull releases Globalization in 2014, followed by the Spanish-language album Dale in 2015. The artist's tenth album, Climate Change, was released in March 2017. Then he infuses his energy into the soundtracks of several films: Fast and Furious 8, GOTTI and Aquaman. He makes his comeback with new compositions in 2019 with the opus Libertad 548, which as usual contains numerous collaborations: Daddy Yankee, Natif Natasha, Wisin & Yandel, Blake Shelton, Ne-Yo and Ludacris. in 2023, he unveiled his twelfth album, Trackhouse, featuring artists such as T-Pain and Lil Jon. That same year, Pitbull embarked on the "Party After Dark" tour across more than 25 North American cities, alongside T-Pain and Lil Jon. In 2024, he reissued Trackhouse in a "Daytona 500 Edition" version, including collaborations with Tim McGraw, Nile Rodgers and Dolly Parton. Alongside his music career, Pitbull diversified his activities, becoming co-owner of the NASCAR Trackhouse Racing team in 2021 and investing in the Cilantro Taco Grill restaurant chain in 2023. the following year, Pitbull collaborated with Bon Jovi on an electronic cover of their 2000 hit "It's My Life," entitled "Now or Never." The track debuted at #13 on the Billboard Top 15 Dance/Electronic Songs chart in the US.
