Biography

Born in Manhattan on 17 February 1983, Kevin Rudolf had a love of music instilled in him from an early age thanks to his mother's aspirations to be a rock singer. He learnt to play the guitar from the age of 11 and, as a teen, made a name for himself in the New York underground music scene. He got lucky when he met producer Timbaland through a friend and caught his first break collaborating on the rapper's songs, including "Release" and "Scream." When Timbaland discovered he could play guitar, the list of collaborations grew, and he worked with many artists, including Nelly Furtado, Black Eyed Peas and Lil Kim (playing guitar on the 2003 hit "The Jumpoff"); all the time working on his own songs and producing those of other artists. His debut single "Let It Rock" in 2008 demonstrated his rock-rap sensibilities, featured guest Lil Wayne and was an instant hit, entering the top 5 in both the UK and US charts. His debut album In The City followed in November of the same year and second album To The Sky was released in June 2010. He put out a string of singles sporadically after that, including 2012's "Champions" featuring Limp Bizkit, Birdman, and Lil Wayne and 2017's "Nobody Gets Out Alive," before releasing his first studio album in 14 years: 2024's Against the Wall (Vol. 1). A new single of dirty rock'n'roll, "One Man Show," surfaced in 2025.
