Piramis, a Hungarian hard rock band, was formed in 1974 by bassist Lajos Som, drummer Miklós Köves, and guitarist János Závodi. The group initially focused on instrumental music but soon added keyboardist Péter Gallai as the vocalist. Their first single "A becsület és" / "Szállj fel magasra!" was released in 1976 and became a significant success. The band's debut album Piramis followed in 1977, winning them a public award at the Metronóm '77 Festival for their song "Ãgni kell annak, aki gyújtani akar". Subsequent albums include Piramis 2 (1978)., Piramis 3 (1979), and Erotica (1981). In 1982, Som and Köves were arrested for gold smuggling, effectively disbanding the group. Piramis reunited in 1992 and again in 2006, with Révész returning to the lineup. The band continued under various names and lineups until Gallai's death in 2019.
