Pete Eemeli Parkkonen, born 8 February 1990, emerged from a musical family and gained exposure through Idol competition, where he finished third in 2009. He launched his recording career with the single "Girl in a Uniform" February 2009, followed by "The Final Day" April. His debut album The First Album was released 9 March 2009 and debuted at number one on the Albums Chart, selling 24,000 copies and earning gold certification. In 2010 he issued the album I'm an Accident, which peaked at number 21. He followed up with the Finnish-language albums Pete Parkkonen (2014) and Pete (2018), marking a shift from alternative rock to soul, pop and R&B. In 2026, Pete Parkkonen performed a duet with violinist Linda Lampenius on "Liekinheitin," recorded for the Eurovision Song Contest.
