Biography

King Prawn, a British ska punk band from London, formed in 1993. Their breakthrough came with their first single, "Poison in the Air" (1995), followed by their debut album First Offence (1995). Produced by Martin Kent of Skunk Anansie, the album gained them significant attention across the UK. King Prawn toured extensively and released the albums Fried in London (1998) and Surrender to the Blender (2000). They were nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best New British Band in 1998. The band released their fourth album, Got the Thirst (2003), before disbanding later that year. Their last performance of their first incarnation was on December 20, 2003. King Prawn reunited in 2013, performing at festivals and releasing the singles "Done Days" (2013) and "A Solemn Man" (2013). They later released the album The Fabulous New Sounds Of... (2019).
