Biography

Francisco José Andión González, known as Patxi Andión, was a Spanish singer-songwriter and actor born on October 6, 1947, in Madrid. He began his career in the 1960s with the groups Los Dingos and Los Camperos. Andión released his debut album, Retratos, in 1969. During the 1970s, he published recordings including Once canciones entre paréntesis (1971), Palabra por palabra (1972), and Cancionero prohibido (1978), which featured songs such as "Puedo inventar" and "La casa se queda sola". He also worked as an actor, appearing in the film El libro del Buen Amor (1975). Later in his career, Andión became a sociology professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. His later discography included the albums Porvenir (2010), 4DM (2014), and La hora Lobicán (2019). Andión died on December 18, 2019, following an automobile accident in Soria.
