The Three Stooges were an American vaudeville and comedy troupe active between 1922 and 1970. The act originally consisted of Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Shemp Howard, with Curly Howard, Joe Besser, and Joe DeRita also performing as members during various periods. While best known for their 190 short-subject films for Columbia Pictures, the group also released several musical recordings. In the early 1960s, the lineup featuring Moe, Larry, and Curly Joe recorded adaptations of nursery rhymes, including âMaking a Recordâ, âThree Little Fishesâ, and âAll I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teethâ. Their first phonograph record was the single âHave Rocket, Will Travelâ (1959). The groupâs final recording, Yogi Bear and the Three Stooges Meet the Mad, Mad, Mad Dr. No-No, was released in 1966. The Three Stooges received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1983.
