Julian Dawson, born on July 4, 1954, in London, is a British singer. He grew up as one of seven brothers in London and Kent, initially studying fine arts at Exeter Art College before focusing on music. Julian Dawson began his career performing with various bands across the UK and Germany, using his own material. In the late 1970s, he played with Iain Matthews' band Plainsong and worked at Can's studio in Cologne. His collaboration with Wolfgang Niedecken led to opening performances for BAP, and in 2013, he produced Niedeckens' album Zosamme alt. Julian Dawson's career includes collaborations with notable musicians such as Al Stewart, Fairport Convention, Toots Thielemans, Richard Thompson, and Lucinda Williams. In the 1990s, he recorded two CDs in Nashville produced by Garry Tallent of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, featuring musicians like Vince Gill and Duane Eddy. His album Travel On (1995) includes "You're Listening Now", a collaboration with Nicky Hopkins.
