Ha Nam-seok (born 24â¯Januaryâ¯1949) is a Korean folkâsongwriter whose career began in 1970 when he debuted as a folkâpop vocalist at an underground live club. He entered the mainstream in 1974 with his selfâtitled debut album Ha Nam-seok, and soon after released the hit single "Woman Who Left at Night", which cemented his reputation as a lyrical storyteller. Following his first breakthrough, he continued to issue albums that reflected his evolving musical style: A Trip on a Rainy Day (1980), A Crybaby Is Silly (1983), and a compilation Ha Nam-seok Best (1995). In the early 2000s he explored new thematic territory with the album Aeban (2002) and released Love Compassion (2004). A resurgence of interest in his catalog arrived with the 2010 release Compassion, and he continued to honor his legacy with 2011 Best Of Best (2012), the concept album Dreamer (2013), and the nostalgic 14th The Scent of Dusk (2021). The track "A Crybaby Is Silly" on the album of the same name, released in November 1983, entered Melon's Top 100 Singles MelOn chart at rank 16 in March 1984.
