Paquitas, a Brazilian children's music group formed in 1984 by entrepreneur Marlene Mattos, originated as assistants on Xuxa Meneghelâs television shows. Their breakthrough came when they began accompanying Meneghel on Xou da Xuxa, a popular TV Globo program. The group released their debut album, Paquitas, in 1989, followed by subsequent albums including Paquitas (1991) and New Generation (1995). Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Paquitas became cultural icons known for their distinctive uniforms inspired by majorette costumes. They embarked on successful tours across Brazil, with notable members including LetÃcia Spiller, Bianca Rinaldi, and Juliana Baroni, who later pursued careers in television and theater. The group disbanded in 2002 following the end of Xuxa Meneghel's partnership with Marlene Mattos.
