Pamelah, a Japanese electro-power-pop band, was formed in 1995 by vocalist and lyricist Yuki Mizuhara and composer and guitarist Masazumi Ozawa. The group's name was inspired by actress Pamela Tiffin. Before the band's formation, Masazumi had already established himself as an arranger, contributing to Wands' debut single "Sabishisa wa Aki no Iro". Yuki underwent vocal training from 1992 until her debut with Pamelah. In February 1995, Pamelah released their debut single "Looking for the Truth", written by Mariko Kurosawa. The band self-produced all subsequent music.
Pamelah's second studio album Pure, released in September 1996, earned them a Japanese Gold Disc Award nomination for Best 5 New Artist and peaked at number 3 on the Oricon Weekly Charts, selling over 200,000 copies. The band made multiple appearances on Music Station and had several songs featured in TV programs and anime series, including "Spirit" as the third ending theme for Hell Teacher NÅ«bÄ. In March 1998, they launched their official website and fan club, followed by a video chat with fans in March 1999. After releasing their final studio album ism in September 1999, Pamelah disbanded without announcement. Yuki Mizuhara briefly pursued a solo career but withdrew from public life shortly after. Masazumi Ozawa continued his work as an arranger and guitarist for various artists. In 2003, two previously unreleased songs by Yuki were included in the compilation album complete of PAMELAH at the BEING studio.
