Kai Hugo, known professionally as Palmbomen (born 1988), is a Dutch electronic musician, producer, and DJ from Amsterdam. A co-founder of NON Records, Hugo adopted his stage name while filling in for a cancelled artist. He released the debut EP Moon Children in July 2010. Following extensive touring, Hugo relocated to Berlin and released the full-length album Night Flight Europa (2013), which incorporated elements of ambient house and Italo disco. His track âStockâ was remixed by Soulwax for the video game Grand Theft Auto V. Hugo also composed the soundtrack for the PlayStation Vita game Metrico (2014) before relocating to Los Angeles. In 2015, he introduced the moniker âPalmbomen IIâ, releasing an X-Files-inspired self-titled album and the collaborative Center Parcs EP (2016) with Betonkust.
