Ouyang Fei Fei, born on September 10, 1949, in Taiwan, is a Taiwanese-Japanese singer. She began her musical career with a debut performance at the Central Hotel in Taipei in 1967 before moving to Japan to pursue a recording career. Ouyang's breakthrough came with her debut single "Ame no MidÅsuji" (Rainy MidÅsuji), released in September 1971, which sold over a million units and reached the Number 1 position on the Oricon charts. The song was composed by The Ventures with lyrics written by Haruo Hayashi. This success earned her the Best Newcomer prize at the 13th Japan Record Awards that same year. Her second Japanese single, "Ame no Airport" (Rainy airport), reached number 4 on the Oricon charts and sold nearly 400,000 copies, winning her the Grand Prize at the 5th Japan Cable Awards. In 1982, Ouyang released "Love Is Over", which reached Number 1 on the Oricon charts and sold over half a million units, earning her the Long Seller prize at the 25th Japan Record Awards. Throughout her career, Ouyang appeared three times on KÅhaku Uta Gassen, performing "Koi no Tsuiseki" (Love chase) in 1972, "Koi no JÅ«jiro" (The crossroads of love) in 1973, and "Love Is Over" in 1991.
