Biography
Otto Sauter, born on June 23, 1961, in Tengen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is a German trumpeter specializing in Baroque music and the piccolo trumpet. He began his musical journey at age four and started studying under Claude Rippas at the Winterthur/Zürich Conservatory at 16, earning diplomas in 1984 and 1985. From 1988 to 1998, he served as the principal trumpeter at the Bremen Philharmonic State Orchestra. Sauter founded the Bremen International Trumpet Days in 1991 and the Bremen International Trumpet Academy in 1994. He held guest professorships at institutions in Tokyo and Santiago de Chile. Notable performances include a December 1995 concert with the Philharmonia Orchestra London at St Jamesâs Palace in front of Prince Charles. Sauter's ensemble, Ten of the Best, performed at events like the opening of Arena AufSchalke in 2001. His notable albums include the World of Baroque series.
