Roland Härdtner, born on March 27, 1964, in Germany, is a percussionist specializing in mallet instruments. He began his musical education at the Baden Conservatory in Karlsruhe and later studied at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf from 1985 to 1992. Härdtner's career as a soloist for marimba, vibraphone, and xylophone started in the 1980s. He has released several albums, including Solo Mallets (1997) and Entertain Mallets (2007). Notable collaborations include work with the Baden Philharmonic Orchestra Pforzheim and international artists like Amadou Kienou. Härdtner's repertoire spans over 40 compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, featured on albums such as Badinerie (2000) and AIRevolution (2001). His arrangement of Philip Glassâs Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No.1 for marimba and vibraphone, released on Virtuos Mallets (2010), received international attention.
