Overlake, a shoegaze and indie rock band from New Jersey, USA, formed in 2012 when guitarist and vocalist Tom Barrett and bassist and vocalist Lysa Opfer collaborated after becoming friends over their mutual interest in 1990s bands. Drummer Scotty Imp soon joined to complete the trio. Overlake's music draws comparisons to My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. In 2014, they released their debut album Sighs via Killing Horse Records and performed at the South by Southwest music festival. Drummer Nick D'Amore replaced Imp in 2015, and the band released the single "Travelogue" on 7"-vinyl. Overlake signed with Bar/None Records in late 2016 and released their second studio album Fall in May 2017. The album was listed as a local worthy album by PopMatters. In 2017, they opened for the Brian Jonestown Massacre at Union Transfer in Philadelphia.
