Biography
The Canadian rapper known as NorthSideBenji was born Jaiden Watson in Brampton, Ontario. He began rapping in 2016 and released several freestyles, gaining a substantial fanbase on streaming platforms. After signing with the Music 4 Life label, NorthSideBenji made his official debut in 2017 with the singles âAgainâ and âCame to Conquerâ with Houdini and Robin Banks. Following an appearance on the British freestyle series Fire in the Booth in 2018, he issued the single âLevelsâ (2019), which brought the young rapper some much-needed nationwide recognition and received gold certification after selling over 40,000 copies in his native Canada. That year, NorthSideBenji dropped his debut EP Caviar Dreams, followed by another EP titled Frienemy a few months later. Preceded by the singles â30,000 ftâ and âKeep Runninâ,â his first studio album The Extravagant Collection finally hit the shelves in 2021.
