Biography

Nico Vega, an American indie rock band from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 2005 by Aja Volkman, Rich Koehler, and Michael Peña. After releasing several independent EPs, they signed with MySpace Records and released their debut album Nico Vega in February 2009. The band's second full-length album, Lead to Light, was released in July 2014 via Five Seven Music. Notable collaborations include co-writing with Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons on the track "I Believe (Get Over Yourself)". Nico Vega has toured extensively, opening for acts such as Gavin Rossdale and Blondie. The band announced a hiatus in June 2016 but returned in April 2018 with new music. In December 2023, they announced their return to the stage and the release of the EP Make It Out Alive on November 14, 2024.
