Biography

Black Country Communion continues the tradition of supergroups with its four famous musicians from different musical backgrounds. The band, made up of bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple), blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater) and Jason Bonham (son of and drummer for Led Zeppelin in occasional reformations), began making their debut in late 2009. Less than a year later, the album Black Country Communion was released, a reunion at the top of the Anglo-American charts (No. 54 on the Billboard charts in the USA). In 2011, its successor, 2, once again delivers a blues-rock thrill (No. 71). The heavy, timeless rock of Black Country Communion reappeared the following year on Afterglow (2012), followed just five years later by BCCIV (2017), which broke into the top 10 bestsellers in the USA. However, the band took another long break, this time lasting seven years. They returned with V in June 2024. The album, though less successful in the charts, still reached number 76 on the Billboard charts.
