Biography

Triggerfinger is a Belgian rock band from Lier, near Antwerp. Formed in 1998, they consist of Ruben Block (vocals, guitar), Wladimir Geels (bass), replaced in 2003 by Paul Van Bruystegem, aka "Lange Polle", and Mario Goossens (drums). Their music blends alternative rock, hard rock, blues rock and stoner, driven by raw energy and a heavy, precise sound. The band has made a name for itself with its intense live performances and elegant aesthetic. Triggerfinger has released several acclaimed albums, including Triggerfinger (2004), What Grabs Ya? (2008) and All This Dancin' Around (2010) - certified gold in Belgium and the Netherlands. Their acoustic cover of Lykke Li's "I Follow Rivers", recorded live on Dutch radio in 2012, was a huge European success, propelling the band onto the international stage. The following year, the band opened for the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park, London, before recording the album By Absence of the Sun (2014). In 2017, Triggerfinger signed with Mascot Records and recorded the album Colossus (2017). In 2023, after twenty years with the band, Van Bruystegem retired for health reasons and was replaced by Geoffrey Burton. On October 4, 2025, Van Bruystegem died at the age of 66.
