Nena Daconte was formed in 2006, a musical project of Mai Meneses, following her participation in Operación Triunfo. The duo, which included Kim Fanlo, self-released their debut album, He Perdido Los Zapatos, in 2005 and later signed with Universal Music Spain. Notable singles from this period include "Idiota" and "En qué estrella estará", the latter reaching Number 1 on the Spanish charts for five weeks. Nena Daconte received several awards, including the Premio Ondas for best new artist in 2006 and two Premios de la Música for "En qué estrella estará" in 2007. In 2008, Nena Daconte released their second album, Retales De Carnaval. After a hiatus, Meneses returned with the EP Suerte... in 2019, featuring singles like "AmanecÃ" and "Mi Mala Suerte". The band's album, Casi Perfecto, was released in 2023.
