Neilson Gray Hubbard, born on October 27, 1972, in Jackson, Mississippi, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and film director. He began singing at age seven and learned to play the guitar in high school. His first band, This Living Hand, formed with Clay Jones, signed to Adam Duritz's label E Pluribus Unum and toured nationally. After the band split, Hubbard released solo albums including Why Men Fail (2001) and Sing Into Me (2003). In 2014, he formed The Orphan Brigade, releasing albums such as Soundtrack to a Ghost Story (2015) and Heart of the Cave (2017). He notably produced Mary Gauthier's Grammy-nominated album Rifles & Rosary Beads (2018).
