Biography

Negative Approach are an American hardcore punk band from Detroit, Michigan, formed in 1981. The ensemble was founded by John Brannon, Rob McCulloch, Graham McCulloch, and Chris Moore. They performed their first concert in a residential basement before releasing a demo and contributing to the compilation Process of Elimination (1981). They achieved professional recognition for the eponymous extended play Negative Approach (1982), which featured the tracks “Can't Tell No One” (1982), “Ready to Fight” (1982), and “Nothing” (1982). Their recording career includes the studio recording Tied Down (1983). After becoming inactive in 1984, the ensemble resumed activity in 2006 with a lineup including Brannon, Harry Richardson, and Ron Sakowski. Their discography includes the compilation Total Recall (1992) and the recording Nothing Will Stand in Our Way (2011).
