Biography

Myles Sanko's musical odyssey began not in fancy studios, but in the energy of nightclubs. Singing and rapping alongside DJs, he later fronted bands like Bijoumiyo and Speedometer, absorbing diverse influences. "Music is communication," he explains, "it flows naturally, not needing labels like 'jazz' or 'soul.'" This unclassifiable style, combined with raw emotion and audience connection, defines his sound. His 2013 self-produced debut, "Born In Black & White", sparked a warm reception, fueling his passion. Fans even crowdfunded his second album, "Forever Dreaming", fostering a close bond with musicians like Gregory Porter. In 2016, "Just Being Me" marked a return to his core, exploring love, hope, and politics with personal candor. He ventured beyond his roots, transcending genres while preserving the soulful explosion expected from him. 2021 saw him delve deeper with "Memories of Love", his most personal album yet. Co-produced with a longtime collaborator, it captured the live energy he shared with his band on European stages. Each song became a "Memory of love", honest and raw, reflecting on the complexities of this universal emotion. Now, in 2023, Sanko takes his journey to a grand stage. His first live album, recorded with a full orchestra, showcases his powerful voice and evolving sound. From nightclub beginnings to orchestral collaborations, Myles Sanko's musical journey continues to surprise and captivate.
