Biography

Led by energetic frontman Ty Taylor, Vintage Trouble deliver joyous slices of 1960s soul and rock and roll, inspired by the likes of Ike & Tina Turner, Otis Redding and The Rolling Stones. Taylor grew up singing in Baptist churches and played with Los Angeles R&B act Dakota Moon during the late 1990s and early 2000s before meeting Nalle Colt (guitar), Rick Barrio Dill (bass) and Richard Danielson at jam sessions in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood. Unashamedly retro and primitive, they became a tight, high octane live force with relentless gigging and four residencies a week at small, sweaty clubs across the city, before recording debut album The Bomb Shelter Sessions (2011) in just three days. Their strutting grooves and nods to funk, Motown and blues rock built a loyal cult following of fans known as the "trouble makers", while high profile appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and Later.with Jools Holland led to support slots with The Who, Bon Jovi and Brian May.
