My American Heart, originally named No Way Out, was a rock band from San Diego, California, formed in 2001. They changed their name due to legal issues and gained local fame playing at various venues in Southern California. Their breakthrough came when they won the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands. In 2004, they released their first EP, My American Heart. Following this, they signed with Warcon Enterprises and released their debut full-length album, The Meaning in Makeup, in 2005. The band toured extensively, including appearances on the Taste of Chaos tour in 2005 and the Warped Tour. In June 2007, they released their second studio album, Hiding Inside the Horrible Weather. Despite lineup changes and legal issues with their label, My American Heart continued to release music, including the EP Alder Masters in 2009. The band disbanded later that year after a series of final shows but reunited in 2012 for reunion shows and 2017 in honor of the ten-year anniversary of their second album.
