Mr.TROT Japan is the Japanese adaptation of the massively successful Korean audition phenomenon that captivated audiences across generations through its celebration of classic kayōkyoku, nostalgic melodies, and powerful vocal performances. Designed to discover Japan’s next great traditional-pop vocalist, the program brought together singers from diverse backgrounds in a highly competitive survival format that quickly gained national attention. Following the finale, the standout finalists officially made their major debut through King Records on May 27, 2026, releasing their first full album, Mr. TROT JAPAN JOURNEY. The release features the original song “Kimi to Rondo” alongside performances that showcase the group’s broad musical range, emotional storytelling, and deep respect for Japan’s rich vocal music tradition. The project’s core lineup includes first champion Yuki Shima, a high school singer-songwriter from Tokushima celebrated for his remarkable expressive ability and debut song “Prologue,” written by GRe4N BOYZ and produced by Satoshi Takebe. Joining him are the charismatic vocalist Juno, the steady and soulful Masato, veteran pre-show singer Tsunehiko Fuumisato, and the emotionally resonant Ryuta Ushijima.
